When will the home improvement business back?

I had to take a job because of the downturn and now work in sales selling printing supplies and hatred. The money is good, but my heart is just not there. I prefer jeans and T-shirt put vs Suite. I gained weight and is now very unhappy. I am 54 how can I work for a company is not cracked up to everything they say.

The business of home improvement will not return until housing is appreciated in value again. That will not be soon. You can expect that could be in 3 years or so, but would not be surprised if another year of 10 or 15 before we are in a boom period extended again for construction. Historically, construction has been much more up and down than it was during a decade or more, and the great depression we are experiencing now have lasted 15 or 20 years sometimes.
