New groundbreaking T-shirt design challenge with One Match Stick and Springleap.com

What is One Matchstick?

Telana Simpson is trading a single matchstick up in value until she aquires an item of enough value to trade it for an office. She will then use this office space to mentor other up and coming small business start-ups.

Telana started trading in 2006 with one match stick and at this point in time she is doing her tenth trade, 375 Springleap.com t-shirts! Her last trade was for a party for 150 people.

The onematchstick T-shirt Challenge is a fresh concept, made possible by the adorable Telana Simpson. Taking an exhilarating adventure anywhere in South Africa to make the trade and even considering anywhere in the world if the trade is right. Coming straight out of Johannesburg, South Africa, Telana has her own company ‘Inner Coaching’ which offers a mentoring program hence why she needs the office space. Telana has her Honours in Psychology and her passion at present is to succeed in her One Match Stick voyage.

‘A match stick is nothing until you take action. It’s your choice- will you light the candle or the bonfire?’ said Telana, expressing the match stick concept as a powerful weapon which has the potential to light up ones future or destroy it. She got the idea as she always has candles laying around. Telena uses the match stick has a metaphor to express the potential power of human choices and aims to uplift people with this concept.

Telena is adventurous who loves travelling and exploring life deeply in touch with spirituality. Her ultimate favourite Springleap.com t-shirt design is eSimpowenis.

According to Telena ‘when you understand the value of negotiating, you can be more creative and make a powerful transaction.’ She expressed her philosophy in three points:

1. Anything is possible

2. Anything is negotiable

3. Take action

Initially Telana’s idea was to get a office space in a year, however the adventure continues and Telana is working as hard as she can to finally achieve her goal.

8th September – Voting starts
17th September – Voting ends
18th September – T-shirt Trade Day

In order to enter there are some rules you will need to follow. They are:

1. Download the Springleap t-shirt template kit here and read all the rules therein before entering.
2. The competition is open to anyone.

3. The voted design will come before a panel of judges in Onematchstick and Springleap.com to decide the winner from the top voted candidates
4. The winner’s prize will consist of a bundle of goodies valued at R5300 (about US$650) including 3 of the t-shirts you designed and exposure as the designer that created the OFFICIAL onematchstick t-shirt
5. The winning design and all copyrights related to it will become the property of Telana and onematchstick to do with as she sees fit.
