T Shirt Quilts Instructions
What can you make Ghillie suits with?
Well i’ve been thinking about making a Ghillie suit with online instructions. They estimate that i will have to spend around $85 dollars. According to the instructions most of the money comes from the burlap. Although my sister recently is making a quilt out of her college t shirts and she has alot of left over pieces from the shirts, so i was wondering if you could make a ghillie suit from the remains of the t shirts. I have nets on which i can make the veil and i have some of my dads BDUs which he doesnt need anymore (retired not dead). What im trying to ask is if you can make a ghillie suit using those materials and if not what else can you make it out of other then burlap?
If you are looking to do it on the cheap, then you can try going to the grocery store and ask them if they have any from the produce they get in. Next, the t-shirt idea/bdu’s, I wouldn’t use because the burlap when shredded; will break up your pattern whereas the bdu’s and t-shirts will not. Depending on how many times you want to use your gillie suit, you will want to put more effort into them. Part of the deal with gillie suits is the sniper used native plants to weave into the suit to fill it out and help with the camouflage. You could also look online for a suit, I’ve seen them for less than 85 bucks.
