How do I silkscreen a red image onto a black t-shirt without the paint soaking into the fabric?

I’ve tried screenprinting onto black t-shirts with red paint (all from one of the Speedball kits), but every time I’ve tried it, it looks fine initially, the red bright and standing out, but within a few hours, the paint has always soaked into the fabric, leaving the image dark and almost impossible to see. Does anyone have any idea what I’m doing wrong? Am I just using sub-par paint?
