Fort Walton Beach is famous for its white sandy beaches, fishing fleets, commercial and recreational, and water assets. This pier is about capturing the "big" and made some great fish have been caught from the pier including a tarpon that weighed over 100 pounds, 42 pounds of king mackerel. Other fish that were caught from the pier are red fish, Jack frayed, Pompano, Lady fish and Bluefish. The end of the pier is an octagon shape that gives one the maximum fish fighting room.

If golf is more your style you'll be glad to know there are many golf courses and parks near the beach for families to enjoy as well. While you're there, make sure visit the Emerald Coast Science Center. It is a great place to make summer learning fun for children.

The Boardwalk on the nearby island of Kales, view the white sand beach and crystal clear waters. There is also a covered picnic area there where you can enjoy the view while enjoying your lunch. When ready to head to the boardwalk for lunch or shopping can use the showers provided for sand.
