Trying to design a transfer for a t-shirt. With Windows XP, not able to lay out my slogan like I want it. Any?

I’m really kind of green at this – I know there are a lot of free downloads for just about anything. What about designing fonts and etc? I want a gradual down arc for my wording and my word processor makes it like an upside down “U” (the arch is way too strong). So, I’m not looking for different fonts but software that helps you lay it out in different directions and angles but nothing really too fancy. Thanks!

I’d recommend paint.net or GIMP. Both are free. GIMP is a little more involved, but also allows you to do more.
