What am I doing wrong in my embroidered letters to pull the fabric?

Eg I have a brother 700 embroidery machines. I'm trying to embroider a word T-shirt. The letters are half an inch, but pull the fabric and do once the deed is "crooked." Do you have to do with the "compensation of attraction "or the type of stitch? Please give details. Thanks

What is the fabric. Stabilization is required. As the needle goes up and down stretching and pulling. can use an iron in pelon and leave a pin or stabilzer soluble in water to wash when you wash the piece. Sometimes it is easier to paint on a shirt and so I put a stack of paper to prevent bleeding through the other side and a piece of fine grit sandpaper on the shirt to grab and hold still while I paint.
